Presentation of a new production house for new music: Rizoom

Rizoom is the name of a brand new production house for new music in the Netherlands. During the Gaudeamus Music Week 2018, Gaudeamus and Nieuw Geneco (the Dutch professional association for composers) took the initiative to convene institutions dealing with contemporary music. As a result, a small number of parties continued talking, resulting in the plans for Rizoom: concert halls Muziekgebouw (Amsterdam), De Doelen (Rotterdam) and Korzo (The Hague), production house for contemporary music Intro (Maastricht), Asko|Schönberg Ensemble, and festival November Music (’s-Hertogenbosch), will take part. Some of the masterminds behind this new platform will discuss the plans for the future and they might even talk about rhizomes from a philosopher’s, a composer’s and a biologist’s point of view.
